Breakfast with Dustin

Thursday, February 22nd, 2007

Or as some like to equate this to the last supper of South By South West, the annual Breakfast with Dustin will occur on the last official night of SxSW with me at the International House of Pancackes between 1am and 2am (evening of the 13th, morning of 14th). Getting there is simple as it’s only about 1/2 mile from the Hilton (click on link for directions).

The reason for the time is to accommodate the night owls that are just looking for something to do at an after party (and to get sober) and to give others that have early flights the next morning an opportunity to do something in the meantime (since going to sleep is not an option). And lastly, like always, breakfast will will be on me :)

Let’s keep the tradition alive. See you there.

1AM? Dude, way too early, the open bar should still be going by then.

You can’t schedule a breakfast with Dustin, it has to evolve organically. You of all people should know this!

    Mmmm…. Pancakes… *drool*

1 a.m. is certainly too early. Bars serve till 2 here in Austin and the IHOP doesn’t. Which is probably a good thing…

  3. Dan Webb

I’ll be there. This year I was careful to get a lunchtime flight home. Do they serve beers at IHOP?

  4. Dustin Diaz

@Cam: Well this is the friendly reminder to invite those who came “organically” last year, to come back.

@Patrck and Cam: I don’t recall the exact time we arrived last year, but it was sometime between one and two am. The thought behind it was to let folks start rolling in anytime after 1. We could simply move it to 2am and all is well?

@Patrick: You gotta remember though, folks already have a beer in there hand as the last panel ends.

@Dan: I don’t know if they serve it or not. Regardless, I’ll see ya there dude.

    Hey Dustin,

I thought we agreed it would be called breakfast with Jim! Good to see the tradition will continue and look forward to hanging with you again this year!

I’m in. Coffee, COFFEE, coFFee, CoffEE… my flight out on the 14th is at 6:20am!

  9. Scott

Count me in too. Nothing beats a 1am breakfast.

  10. Steve Ganz

Awwww yeah. I’ve got a 7:20am departure. Who needs sleep when you’ve got pancakes?

  11. Dustin Diaz

Great. Sounds like we got a solid crew coming. I’m sure there will be many more that form organically :) It will happen for sure.

[...] Breakfast with Dustin: Dustin Diaz is having a late night breakfast for all of those who’ve opted to fly out on the 14th (as opposed to taking a red-eye). [...]
