It’s time for you to cash in

Monday, December 12th, 2005

You’ve been nice, you’ve been patient, and you may even be rewarded. Did I mention I was feeling festive? Let this be a big announcement for all my faithful readers (and those to be).

As you may have already known, I’m launching The 12 days of Christmas [Web Developers Edition] which will entail one article per day leading up to Christmas Eve. Throughout the articles of the 12day series, I will be covering a wide array of topics (within web development) covering C.S.S., JavaScript and the DOM, Accessibility and S.E.O, A.J.A.X., blogging and general web development tips. Along with each article I will also be featuring an accompanying relevant book of which you can win!

How can I win one of these books?

Simple. First of all, you will need to participate in the discussions. At the end of each article, I will be asking a question pertaining to the topic at hand. There will be a time limit of roughly one day for you to get in your answer. You’ll know when it’s over for that article when you see that the next article is already posted to the blog.

When the comments/answers are in for an article, I will pick a winner of whom I think had the best answer. Feel free to continue commenting on the article even after a winner has been chosen. The whole point is that we all learn something.

Sorry, no duplicate winners. Hopefully the topics I chose will split up everyones specialties.

Why books?

Some of you might already know this, but F.Y.I; I’m a huge fan of books. I tend to learn more out of a book than anywhere else. So with that said, just be happy with the prizes.

Happy reading (and hopefully learning) and good luck!

Awesome. Hopefully I’ll have more of a chance than I did when guessing monuments…

Get "JavaScript Design Patterns"

"As a web developer, you'll already know that JavaScript™ is a powerful language, allowing you to add an impressive array of dynamic functionality to otherwise static web sites. But there is more power waiting to be unlocked--JavaScript is capable of full object-oriented capabilities, and by applying OOP principles, best practices, and design patterns to your code, you can make it more powerful, more efficient, and easier to work with alone or as part of a team."
