Episode 12: YUI Library Discussion

Thursday, May 11th, 2006

In this episode you will get perhaps the best introduction to the YUI libraries by one of the developers himself. Joining me in this podcast is Yahoo!’s very own Matt Sweeney who is most largely responsible for the DOM Collection Utility and the Animation Utility, both of which are very sexy components that will give you a taste of the quality of what the others have to offer.

In the News

Eric Meyer is Flummoxed by Frameworks and we discussed the topic a bit further. Also Kevin Hale shared some of his thoughts on how to wireframe Ajax which ultimately lead us to discussing how cool Bill Scott is being both a U.E.D. with a code background. Needless to say, we like Bill.

Noteables from this episode

  • An Answers.com reference to what Flummoxed really means
  • We also got into detail as to what a Custom Event is - hopefully giving Adam Moore the justice he deserves for writing this into the Event Utility.

Cool, another podcast already. I’ve got an 8 hour drive to Boise today, so this should take care of at least one hour…

I really like your show, except the belches. I read like a maniac also and enjoyed your book list.
P.S. I think this site breaks in IE7.

[…] A few days later Eric posted Flummoxed by frameworks that started a huge debate about it (he also posted a later explanation). Yesterday I was also listening to Dustin’s episode 12: YUI Library Discussion about the Yahoo! User Interface Library. […]

This show is no bad: news, it, web2.0…
But the fun I got from it is comparable to Monty Python (read: totally crazy =))
