Episode 15: Venni viddi vicci of Events

Sunday, October 15th, 2006

Justin Palmer in many ways felt like the brother I never had even though I will claim to have other JavaScript mafia brothers as well.

Aside from that matter, the “Experience Engineer” from Encytemedia (and Prototype enthusiast) and I spoke about the various forms of Events that all encompass JavaScript. And indeed; we came, we saw, and we conquered.

    Hi Dustin,

Over the weekend I listened to your latest podcast and enjoyed it, again!

About those mutation events: I have been chasing them for some time without succes. Last June, however, I finally got grip on a couple of them.

I wanted to “listen for changes” on an Ajax powered site (well, Flickr to be exact) in order to fix a Greasmonkey script. You can get all the gory details on my blog (http://squio.nl/blog/2006/07/27/keeping-up-with-change/).

Somehow I expect to see much more of these events now Ajax is gaining mainstream traction…

Doh, my hosting provider saw the need to just now migrate to a new server platform.
Wordpress appears to be gone; please bear with me while I try and restore my blog (see previous post).

    Joe.

Yes Justin “is” a Javascript Mafia Brother, and his site Encytemedia/Alternateidea is definately worth a read.

Can you make him post more Dustin? I have a set of pliars you can work his toes with. :)
