The “Come see me speak” post

Sunday, February 11th, 2007

In Austin during one of many after parties of last years South by South West festivities, I was speaking with Alex Giron (fellow hermano (also founder of CSS Beauty)) and we had got into a discussion on what would be going on the year after. He jokingly mentioned to me that I would probably be speaking. And I say he was joking because… I thought he was joking.

Well, to make a long story short, I don’t know how this all came about, but I did end up digging up this email from Cam

Hey Dustin,
<someone> gave me the inside track for getting a panel at SxSW. If you want to put one in, let me know.

I figured this email was innocent enough to share without asking his permission to post it. Actually, I’m pretty sure he won’t mind.

So, if you got time on your hands on a Sunday afternoon (March 11th), come check out Me, Cameron Adams, Sally Carson, and Jonathan Snook speak on “Uniting the Holy Trinity of Web Design.” We promise to make it worth your while.

Oh, and here’s my button.

You sneaky little bastard. Publishing private correspondence in a blog post! The nerve!

    That’s it! The talk’s off!

  4. Rob Goodlatte

Should be an interesting panel, I’ll be sure to attend.

  5. Erik Sagen

I’m so there! Also, the name rocks!

I was just going to email you and ask if you’d be there this year. Now I don’t have to and I can finally meet the man in person. Yet another thing to look forward to in a couple weeks.

Damn, too bad I live on the other side of the big water… Someone gonna take notes? Love to read ‘em.
And Dustin, congrats on entering the big guys club. Maybe an idea to make a new living? Flying all over the world doing the guru talk… I know worse ways to get the cash ;).
