See me speak, buy my book

Wednesday, August 29th, 2007

Life has been a bit busy these days and haven’t had much time to update this website, but I’m trying to avoid becoming one of the many bloggers who go to die at Google; hence forth, this post. I can testify that we’re all working very hard on various projects at Google…and getting well fed too. Nevertheless, I do however have a few important announcements that I want to share with everyone.

Vote for my panel

Project S&M: Loving your design team. Your code validates, your API’s are clean, and your framework scales. Your budget is pristine, your projects are on time, and you have plenty of resources. But why do you still want to kill your boss or developers? In this dual conversation between Erin Caton and myself, learn to love and be loved by your staff and project manager in a poignant and humorous presentation that will bring a refreshing addition to the highly technical array of SxSW sessions.

Pro JavaScript Design Patterns: available for Preorder

That’s right! If you head over to Amazon now, you should be able to preorder a copy of our book (co-authored by Y! Frontend Engineer Ross Harmes). Read the description on the Amazon website or even the Apress book website to get a better idea of what the book is about. A special shout out goes to the Apress staff for being extremely patient with us. Also much thanks goes to Chris Mills who has now retired from Apress and moved on to work at Opera. You have been totally awesome.

"As a web developer, you'll already know that JavaScript™ is a powerful language, allowing you to add an impressive array of dynamic functionality to otherwise static web sites. But there is more power waiting to be unlocked--JavaScript is capable of full object-oriented capabilities, and by applying OOP principles, best practices, and design patterns to your code, you can make it more powerful, more efficient, and easier to work with alone or as part of a team."
