[insert new name here] with Imagination

Tuesday, October 24th, 2006

I need a new tag line for this web site for more than a few reasons that I just don’t feel like explaining. I haven’t latched onto any good ideas so far, only except for the fact that I want to keep the “with Imagination” attached to the end of it. This blog-tutorial-podcast-screencast-information-resource site is roughly two years old now, and I think it’s time for a change of name that better suits the content and my personality.

So what should it be…?

    Keep it simple!
You allready have a name in the scene, so why not make it “Dustin with Imaginations”?

Why not just “with Imagination” without anything else attached? In short (or rather, in long), you’d simply call it “Dunstan Diaz’s ‘with Imagination’”

  17. Oliver

Or maybe you could make a script that allow visitors to use a own name to the site, something unobtrusive of course… :P

Getting naked at SxSW — not leaving much to the imagination.

    LOL.

I like Jason’s UImagination, or you could do something that lets you keep the WSwI thing. Something like, “Website Stuff with Imagination,” only better.

  29. Elliot Swan

Huh, it stripped out my blockquote around my quote of Cameron.

    Meat and Potatoes with Imagination

Oh wait, im just naming things I am eating for lunch.

    I love meat and potatoes.

  31. Dustin Diaz

Sweet - these are all excellent ideas. I might even be tempted to take all the ideas, store them in array, randomize them, and have them fade in and out :o

… or just pick a really good one; I haven’t made up my mind yet.

@Cam, if I put “naked” in my tagline, I’m doomed for sure if I ever decided to put intelligent ads on this site. The next generation of keywords may go something like “Nude French Maids with Ajax.”

@Roger: Haha. “Modern Stuff w/…” Yeah, I suppose that’s one way I’ll be up to date with the times.

@Oliver: It’s crossed my mind to keep it as “./ with…” - but surely there’s something else that can be more clever. Besides, I don’t want it to come off like I’m putting a spin on Slashdot.

I’d drop the “with imagination” part if I were you. It’s a burnt card in your site branding.

Looking at your site gives me the feel of an old unix-kindda terminals(very geeky) and the big fonts and type-faces make me feel you like your message clear and delivered, the choice of colors and the palette is a boldness of your site personality.

I’d give you my shot at your site branding. WebDust? How’s that? Now imagine how that fits all the stuff you do over here for your audience or yourself.

    WebDust, man that’s nice.

    What about: “Beyond Imagination”,
short, expressive and gives you depth.

  57. wioota

Was it a sense of irony that drove you to seek a new name from others that included the phrase “…with Imagination.”?

How about calling it ‘Other People with Imagination’? :)

  58. H5N1

    I don’t think it’s aa good idea!
Your website has become maybe more famous of what you think! ^_^
Do you want to change the name of the Colosseum or the Eiffel Tower or the White House?
    :)

  59. Sergej

It’s never easy to find the right name. I’ll give it a shot. How about:
    web life with imagination
    net life with imagination
    living web with imagination
    netcode with imagination
    connect with imagination
Hope you’ll come up with something original though. Good luck!

  60. vishnu

Since we are naming this website..:P,

How about ” They named it with Imagination ” or
” We named it with imagination ” or
” You named it / You name it ” ..of course..with imagination.

Simply ” Unimagination with imagination ” would be apt.

  61. Mark Kawakami

“Validation with Imagination” (it rhymes, but you gotta start using more alt attributes before you can make that claim).

if you’re looking for something more code-geek-y: “Enumeration with imagination”
    More artsy: “Coloration with imagination”
    More intellectual: “Ideation with imagination”
    More incomprehensible: “Amelioration with imagination”
    More absurdist: “Mastication with imagination”
    More pr0ny: “Copulation with imagination”

  68. Brendon Kozlowski

You seem to be passionate about what you do, what you blog about, what you create tutorials and screencasts about…so using the word “passion” or “passionate” in it would be fitting.

    - Passion with Imagination
    - A Hobbyists Passion with Imagination
    - My Passion with Imagination
    - A Coder’s Passion with Imagination

…keeping it “with Imagination” without any leeway could keep it sounding pretty stale. :) But I think this might open up some more ideas for someone else.

  69. Chuck

    One more time… With Imagination!

  70. Dado
